
Carlos Cantó
CEO SPSG Consulting
Carlos Cantó spent over 10 years at IMG (now WME-IMG Endeavor) as Vice President of the Consulting Division. He later moved to Lagardère Sports (now SportFive), where he also served as Vice President of the Consulting Division. Since September 1, 2016, he has been the CEO and founder of SPSG Consulting.
To date, he has led consulting projects in 25 countries, including the United States, Canada, China, India, Singapore, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Andorra, Italy, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Chile, Bermuda, and Barbados. He has been a pioneer in designing and implementing Corporate Partnership Programs for Public Service Entities (such as public transportation and parks). So far, he has helped raise 375 million dollars. He has also advised corporations such as Santander, Bankia, Endesa, Enel, Cepsa, Zurich, Toyota, Baxi, Mahou, Caser, and Pizza Maestro, among others, on sponsorship strategy, as well as properties and other stakeholders within the sports and entertainment industries (including the Spanish Basketball Federation, Spanish Paralympic Committee, Mediapro, ADO, Spanish Higher Sports Council, EuroLeague Basketball, LVP–Professional Videogame League, Spanish Swimming Federation, RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, GSIC powered by Microsoft, Museum of the Future–Dubai, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, etc.).
He began his professional career at PepsiCo Products (now FritoLay International) as an analyst. Later, he became a partner at Consultur (specializing in tourism and leisure). In 1999, Consultur was acquired by Tea-Cegos. In 2000, he was promoted within the CEGOS Group (Consulting, Training, and Recruitment), becoming Head of Studies and Communication in Spain. Carlos joined IMG in 2003 and Lagardère Sports in January 2014.
Carlos holds a BBA and an MBA from ESADE Business School, including an academic stay at HEC (Paris, France). He has regularly collaborated with several media outlets and professional magazines (such as Expansión, Palco23, MK, etc.) and teaches “Sports Business and Management” at ESADE Business School (MBA and MSc programs, as well as to MBA students visiting from Wharton, Georgetown, George Washington University, etc.), IE Business School (Master in Marketing), and the Real Madrid Graduate School – Universidad Europea (MBA in Sports Management, and as a guest lecturer for visiting MBA students from Columbia University, Saudi Arabia, and others). He is also a lecturer at LaLiga Business School and ISDE.
Lastly, he serves as a Board Member of the Spanish Marketing Association, where he leads the “Sports” section, and as a Non-Executive Advisor at BePlus Social Media. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Board of Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña, WFS – World Football Summit, SportIn Global, OWQLO, and BYS–Book Your Stadium.
